AN Edinburgh design agency has once again been recognised in a worldwide competition celebrating the best newspaper design.
Palmer Watson’s re-design of Danish daily newspaper, Politken, has been named one of five world’s best-designed newspapers at the annual Society for Newspaper Design competition, in Syracuse, USA.
This is the sixth time the duo has received the award, their previous wins being with The Scotsman (1995, 1996 and 1997), The Herald (2003) and Politiken (2007).
The pair’s portfolio also includes international heavyweights, Le Monde and El Pais.
Recently, they helped re-design The Press and Journal.
Ally Palmer told allmediascotland: “We’ve worked closely with Politiken and their art director, Søren Nyeland, over the last few years helping to develop the design. The re-design last November, which was part of their submission to SND, was an evolution of a more radical re-design seven years ago. So it’s a great to see the paper honoured yet again. Politiken take design and photography very seriously and this is reflected in this award.”
