DAVID Guild has been appointed chair of ScotsCare, the charity for Scots in London.
David, 52, succeeds Peter Scott, who was chairman of the charity for five years. He was born and raised in Glasgow and arrived in London in 1981.
He was president of The Caledonian Society of London in 2002/2003 and is currently vice-chairman of The Caledonian Club. He has been a member of London Scottish Football Club for over three decades and served on the club’s executive committee for several years.
David manages investment portfolios on behalf of individuals and Trustees at Brewin Dolphin, where he holds the position of divisional director. He was professionally involved with ScotsCare for 21 years, was invited to join the Board of Trustees in 2012 and was offered the post of chairman this year.
David said: “ScotsCare is a fantastic charity that has been here in London for over 400 years, giving a helping hand to generations of Scots and the children of Scots. I am delighted to have been appointed chairman of this historic and important organisation and look forward to carrying on the excellent work carried out by Peter Scott and previous chairs.
“The need for ScotsCare’s services has never been greater and I will work to ensure that it evolves and remains relevant and of help to the many Scots in London who need us.”
