A MAGAZINE said to be the longest-establised of its type in Scotland has been purchased by the publisher of The Sunday Post and Press and Journal newspapers.
Dundee-based DC Thomson has announced it has purchased Scottish Wedding Directory but that it will remain a separate legal entity, with Lorna Leckie continuing as managing director and Craig Carson as sales director.
In a DC Thomson media release, Ellis Watson, CEO of DC Thomson Publishing, is quoted as saying: “Scottish Wedding Directory will complement our existing brands, in particular our mature and women’s titles, and strengthen our business portfolio.
“There are many synergies that exist and we are eager to develop these over time to benefit both organisations.”
Leckie is also quoted, saying: “This is a great opportunity for Scottish Wedding Directory and will have many benefits for our readers and clients alike.
“DC Thomson’s extensive experience combined with our industry knowledge will improve our brand exposure and the accessibility of our magazine and online presence.”
No financial details are provided.
The statement adds: “Scottish Wedding Directory is the longest established, market-leading wedding magazine in Scotland and its award-winning website is the one-stop-shop for weddings, with a comprehensive directory of venues, services, events and fairs.”
