FORMER Scottish News of the World deputy editor, Iain Mason, has joined Mantra Copywriting as a director.
The experienced journalist will now help to expand the agency’s publishing division and develop existing client business.
Mantra is a Glasgow-based copywriting, content and brand language consultancy, working across digital, print, advertising and PR.
Iain said: “I’m delighted to be joining Mantra. The agency has a deserved reputation for excellent, inventive work and I’m looking forward to adding to its rapidly-expanding portfolio.”
Iain worked for the Scottish News of the World for 13 years after moving from The Sun as chief sub-editor in 1998. Since the paper’s closure in July 2011 he has been advising on a number of media projects.
Mantra was set up in 2005 by former BD-Network creative head, Audrey Mason.
Now based in South Block in Glasgow’s Merchant City, Mantra’s client list includes Scottish Hydro, Scottish Friendly, notonthehighstreet.com and Sustrans, as well as a number of leading UK creative agencies.
Audrey said: “We are delighted that Iain has agreed to join Mantra Copywriting.
“He brings over 20 years of invaluable experience and shares our passion for beautiful language and creative concepts.
“Publishing and digital content are key focus areas for us and with Iain on board, we have the right skill mix to take business to the next level.”
