TRIBUTES are being paid to a ‘marketing guru’, who has died after being struck by a train.
Andy Carolan died after the incident near his East Lothian home. Until last year the chair of marketing agency, Tangible, it is reported he was setting up a business development consultancy.
Writes Alan McEwan, in yesterday’s Edinburgh Evening News, Carolan set up Navigator Responsive Advertising in 1992, selling the direct marketing agency to Cello Group eight years ago, insodoing making an estimated £2.5million from the deal.
Under a headline which describes Carolan as a ‘marketing guru’, McEwan adds that Carolan stayed on with the expanded business and, five years ago, became chair of Tangible, ‘the restructured division of Edinburgh-based Cello’.
The story is picked up in today’s Scotsman and Herald newspapers. The police are quoted saying there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
