MEDIA Kit is a new feature launched today by allmediascotland.com, which aims to share equipment reviews from the likes of Stuff magazine, which is the source of our first list: cameras.
The magazine has just announced its shortlist for its Gadget of the Year (2012) awards, and eight cameras are among the nominees.
They are:
Canon EOS 650D
Says Stuff: “Featuring a dual AF system, this 18MP DSLR with simple options eases beginners into its wide array of functions with aplomb.”
Nikon Coolpix AW100
Says Stuff: “That rugged camo frame surrounds more than just a waterproof, shockproof 16MP camera – the AW100 has GPS, a world map and compass. Beauty, brawn and brains – what more could you ask for?”
Sony NEX-7
Says Stuff: “Supreme picture quality and uncompromised DSLR-like control in a truly compact body – pint-sized perfection. ”
Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1
Says Stuff: “Small yet manual control friendly, the GX1 improves on its already-impressive predecessor the GF1 on all counts.”
Olympus OM-D E-M5
Says Stuff: “Astounding in almost every way, this sets the standard for compact system cameras with its fast autofocus, 9fps bust shooting, an excellent EVF, 16MP, ISO 25,600 pics and the awesome Live Time mode. A worthy successor to the OM name. ”
Canon PowerShot S100
Says Stuff: “ A master of all trades that fits in your jeans pocket, the PowerShot S100 packs a fantastic new lens, new sensor and new DIGIC 5 processor into its compact frame. ”
Fujifilm Finepix X10
Says Stuff: “The best advanced compact around, the X10 delivers pin-sharp images thanks to its super-sized sensor and super-fast autofocus. A retro-tastic joy to use. ”
Nokia 808 PureView
Says Stuff: “A phone in the Camera of the Year shortlist? Heresy! But the 808 PureView is a remarkable beast – a 41MP camera crammed into a Nokia mobile. Genuinely innovative. ”
