THE Scottish Federation of Housing Associations is seeking a part-time Press and Public Affairs Manager (maternity cover) who can actively contribute to the organisation’s success through managing the SFHA’s media and social media strategies and public affairs activities.
This role involves running an effective press office; producing press releases and other materials for the media; ensuring delivery of the Press and Public Affairs business plan; maintaining and developing key contacts and advising SFHA staff and board members on media and political issues as well as supervising the work of the Assistant Press Officer.
The post holder will also edit and contribute content for internal and member publications such as Housing Scotland Today e-newsletter and Housing Scotland magazine.
Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate a proactive approach in seeking opportunities to promote the aims and messages of the organisations and the important work of its members.
Candidates should have degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, experience of dealing with the media, and of working in a parliamentary or campaigning role, and excellent communications skills both written and verbal. Good customer care and team working skills are vital. Some knowledge of housing issues is desirable.
