BEATTIE Communications, the fast growing PR and marketing agency, has begun generating its own Green electricity.
The agency has invested tens of thousands of pounds installing solar panels on the roof of its media village in the Scottish town of Falkirk.
Glasgow firm, Absolute Solar & Wind, installed the 10kwp solar energy system.
By generating its own power and through energy conservation, the company will slash its fuel bills, reducing its carbon footprint by eight – ten per cent. Beattie Communications has already begun feeding surplus electricity into the National Grid.
Laurna Woods, managing director of Beattie Communications, said: “We are probably the first PR and marketing agency in the UK to invest in solar energy. We hope others will follow our lead.”
In addition to solar panels, Beattie Communications is investing in energy-efficient lighting, upgrading office equipment and installing new heating systems in its UK offices including its HQ in London.
To further reduce its carbon footprint, the agency is also making more use of video and audio conferencing and most of its training programmes are now delivered remotely. The long-term aim of Beattie Communications is to become one of the greenest consultancy businesses in the world.
