CHIVAS Brothers, the Scotch whisky and premium gin business of Pernod Ricard, has donated £35,000 to five chosen charities this New Year after employees from across 31 sites were invited to nominate and vote for their Charity of the Year 2010.
The charities, listed below, have each received £7,000 and span across the main geographical areas of the business – Dumbarton, Greater Glasgow, Edinburgh, Speyside and London:
National Autistic Society (Dumbarton)
Breast Cancer Care (Greater Glasgow)
Children with Cancer & Leukaemia Advice & Support for Parents (Edinburgh)
Macmillan Cancer Support (Speyside)
Alzheimer’s Society (London)
Vanessa Wright, communications director, Chivas Brothers, said: “As a recognised, leading employer with 1,600 employees in Scotland and London, it is important for us to support and give back to the communities in which we operate. We are delighted to be making these donations, particularly at this time of year, to what we believe are five very worthy causes.”
