SINGER-songwriter, Carrie Mac, and TV design guru, John Amabile, will be joining Glasgow’s ladies who lunch for a fundraising event in aid of Scotland’s unpaid carers and young carers this weekend.
The up-and-coming Scots star is to perform at the Pret a Portea champagne tea at Glasgow’s new upmarket venue, The Grand Central, on Sunday 3 October.
The event is to raise money for The Princess Royal Trust for Carers (The Trust) and will be hosted by John Amabile.
The afternoon’s proceedings will also include a champagne afternoon tea, a fashion show by Jaegar showcasing the brand’s autumn and winter collection and exclusive shopping. All profits will go towards The Trust, which supports carers looking after family members or friends who can’t manage without their help.
Pret a Portea has been organised by Laura Gordon, Chief Executive of Corporate Connections International Ltd, and a member of The Trust’s Scottish Campaign Board.
Carrie said: “As a singer-songwriter, I often work long hours in the studio, but I know that Scotland’s unpaid carers and young carers put in enormous amounts of work looking after relatives and friends with illnesses or disabilities.
“Without them society would come to a standstill, and that’s why I’m happy to be here today to support The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and all the work it does to support carers in this country.”
