A WESTERN Isles community radio station is in the running for the title, Radio Station of the Year, at this year’s annual celebration of film, broadcasting and digital media among the Celtic nations and regions, including Scotland and Brittany.
Isles FM is also shortlisted in the Celtic Media Festival category featuring the largest number of nominations – radio documentary – which has 13 hopefuls, four from Scotland.
To win the Radio Station title, Isles FM will have to beat off the challenge of three BBC stations and Ireland’s state broadcaster, RTE.
There are 19 categories in total.
The festival is taking place in Derry/Londonderry between April 18 and 20.
