A FORMER senior public affairs executive at STV has been badly injured in a ski-ing accident in France, according to media reports.
The Scottish Daily Mail today reports that Rhoda Macdonald underwent five hours of surgery in a hospital near the resort of Val d’Isere.
The Mail says: “Doctors inserted pin and plates in her leg after she smashed bones in her shin, knee and ankle less than 24 hours after arriving for a holiday.
“It is feared that the broadcaster – who hosted Gaelic programmes on both BBC and STV – may need further surgery.”
The 50 year-old, who held top public affairs posts at the Bell Pottinger Group and Burson Marsteller after leaving STV, is now a freelance communications consultant.
She is understood to be flying back to the UK – escorted by a British nurse.
Adds the Mail: “In a Facebook message, she said: ‘A week has passed in a daze of morphine and sundry other drugs. Please send positive thoughts.'”
