THE former MSP, Tommy Sheridan, is reported to be pursuing the publishers of the now defunct News of the World for damages awarded to him several years ago.
Sheridan was released from prison last week after having last year being found guilty of perjury during a defamation case against the News of the World six years ago.
Says today’s Daily Record, under an exclusive banner, Sheridan has a court date a week tomorrow in his bid to retrieve £200,000 that was originally awarded to him in damages.
It is being claimed Sheridan has yet to receive “a single penny” of the £200,000 and the paper did not appeal the award, which they reportedly should have done within 28 days.
The News of the World was closed down in July last year amid allegations of phone-hacking.
