THE producer of the observational documentary screened on BBC Scotland, The Scheme, is quoted as “being fine” but having nothing to do with a similar series based in Northern Ireland.
In today’s The Scottish Sun, Michelle Friel of independent TV production company, Friel Kean Films, is quoted saying: “It’s nothing to do with our company. We knew about it but these things happen, it’s fine.”
The Scheme followed the fortunes of residents of a housing estate in Kilmarnock.
Says The Sun of The Estate, on BBC Northern Ireland: “The piano-led soundtrack, atmospheric camera shots and the narration style are virtually identical of The Scheme’s.”
