YESTERDAY’S severe storms which battered Scotland resulted in the second largest audience in a decade to tune into BBC Scotland’s evening news flagship, Reporting Scotland.
An estimated 901,000 people tuned into the programme while an estimated 583,000 watched BBC Scotland’s lunchtime news bulletin – making it the highest audience for that timeslot since at least 2001.
The 901,000 represented a 42.4 per cent share of the available TV audience and was second only these last ten years to the estimated 933,000 who tuned in to the programme on January 4 two years ago – following a big freeze.
