History is to be made on Wednesday with live, television coverage of an European football tie involving a Scots women's football club.
Glasgow City will become the first Scottish women's club to have a match broadcast live on television when BBC ALBA covers their Champions League tie with Potsdam.
The Scots club are in the last 16 of the Champions League for the first time and face last year's runners-up in Germany on Wednesday, with a 4pm kick-off. Indeed, it is the first time any Scottish women's club has reached the last 16 of the competition.
The return leg – a week on Thursday – is also being broadcast live, this time from 6pm.
Both broadcasts are being produced by mne TV.
The BBC quotes BBC ALBA head of content, Alan Esslemont, as saying: “Glasgow City have enjoyed tremendous success in domestic and European competitions over the past few years.
“And it is important that women's football gains the recognition that it rightly deserves.”
