The incoming chief executive of Johnston Press, publisher of The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday and the Evening News, has reportedly increased his holding of shares in the company.
The Scotsman reports today that Ashley Highfield purchased a total of 334,595 shares at prices between 4.4p and 4.55p a share last week.
It is understood he now holds a total of 711,818 shares in the company, which he joins next Tuesday.
Says The Scotsman: “Highfield was named as replacement for John Fry in July. He was previously at Microsoft, where he was vice-president responsible for its UK consumer and online business, including the MSN website.
“Shares in Johnston Press rose by 0.15p to 4.35p yesterday.”
