The debut edition of a new news and current affairs programme last night outshone the recent average viewing figures for its broadcasters, STV.
Scotland Tonight – last night hosted by John MacKay – averaged an estimated 157,000 viewers and ten per cent share of the available audience.
For STV, it represented the best performance in the Monday, 10.30pm-11pm slot across the last 12 weeks and the viewing was 36 per cent up on what the slot normally averages.
