The Daily Record devoted a side panel on page two of today's edition to a tribute to one of its journalists, Ron Bowie, who has died following a short illness, aged 62.
Says the paper: “Ron, who had an infectious passion for journalism in general and newspapers in particular, had enjoyed 36 years’ distinguished service with the Daily Record, as a sub-editor then as copy taster.
“Ron, who also proudly served the National Union of Journalists for 40 years at local and national level, leaves wife Catherine, sons David and Alex and a daughter Catriona.
“A funeral Mass will take place at St Joseph’s RC Church, Eaglesham Road, Clarkston, on Tuesday at 9.30am.”
