A leading Scottish political journalist yesterday revealed of how in more than 20 years in journalism, he had only been physically threatened by three politicians – and they were all Glasgow Labour councillors.
In his opinion column, Euan McColm, political editor of the Scottish News of the World, confided to his readers: “I know you would expect there to be more, but three it is. So far.
“Nothing ever came off them, but I did have kickings promised and doings pledged.
“All three would-be assailants had one thing – apart from their colossal stupidity – in common. They were Glasgow Labour councillors.”
