The public affairs manager at an organisation representing the interests of small businesses has been promoted to take on more policy responsibilities.
Colin Borland has been named head of external affairs (Scotland) at the Federation of Small Businesses. He has been with the Federation for four years and – says a statement from the organisation – “the newly-created role reaffirms Colin’s responsibility for media relations and public affairs north of the border with additional line management and public policy responsibilities”.
The statement adds: “The FSB has been getting widespread recognition for its Scottish Parliament election campaign with influential Scotsman journalist, Bill Jamieson, saying, in April, that …'the FSB is a cannae body whose time has come'.”
The FSB has over 20,000 members in Scotland, and comprises three additional public affairs, media and policy staff and four field staff.
