A former head of the tourism agency, VisitScotland, has been unveiled as the chair of a new PR agency, being run by a recent former presenter on STV and an ex-editor of BBC Scotland's Reporting Scotland.
Peter Lederer joins Taste Communications, which bills itself as 'Scotland’s first specialist food and drink communications company' and is officially being launched today by Stephen Jardine and Jim Duff.
Lederer was chair of VisitScotland for nine years and he is currently chair of Gleneagles Hotels, Hamilton and Inches and the Saltire Foundation.
Jardine has just completed presenting The Hour magazine programme on STV.
Says a statement from Taste: “The company will use broadcasting, publishing and social media to help Scottish restaurants, hotels and food and drink brands be the best they can be by taking their message of quality and distinction to the widest possible audience.
“The company will also campaign on issues affecting the food and drink industry.”
Lederer is quoted, as saying: “I have spent 28 years in Scotland, am passionate about Scotland and its hospitality industry.
“I am excited at this stage of my career to work with the Taste Communications team to build something new.
“Scotland has great produce, and a great story to tell – we need to become better storytellers and communicators.”
