The publisher of The Scotsman newspaper has appointed a senior figure at the BBC to lead its digital content strategy.
Current social media editor for BBC News, Alex Gubbay, has been taken on by Johnston Press.
In a statement issued by Johnston, digital and business development director, Henry Faure Walker, is quoted as saying: “We are delighted to welcome Alex, one of the BBC’s most experienced interactive edtiors, to Johnston Press. He joins us at an exciting time as we look to develop further our digital content output through our exisiting news websites but also through mobile and other emerging platforms.”
Gubbay is taking up his new role in June, following the departure of Lori Cunningham as digital director last May.
