A ‘HOMECOMING’ weekend for alumni, students and staff is being organised for June to celebrate the 40th anniversary of an university department of marketing.
The Department of Marketing at the University of Strathclyde was founded in 1971 under the leadership of Emeritus Professor, Michael Baker.
In a statement issued by the university, Professor Kevin Ibeh, head of the department, is quoted, as saying: “Strathclyde marketing expertise has been exported all over the world through our pioneering research, high-calibre alumni and our strong links with businesses and organisations. Thousands of graduates from the department are making excellent professional contributions across the globe and making a real impact on the success of their organisations.
“This important milestone gives us an opportunity to welcome graduates and former staff back to the university as we reflect on our rich history and look forward to our future as champions of excellence and innovation.”
The homecoming weekend is on June 10/11. It is one of a number of events planned for throughout the year – details of which can be found, here.
