A legend of Scottish football, Kenny Dalglish – who scored when Scotland last played Spain at home – is to be part of the commentary team on Real Radio Scotland as it reports the countries clashing again.
On Tuesday, Scotland's men's football team host World and European champions, Spain, in a crucial match, for qualification to the next European Championships. And Dalglish will be joining Real Radio Football phone-in host, Ewen Cameron, along with pundit, and former Scotland teammate of Dalglish, Alan Rough, as they commentate live.
Cameron and Rough will be broadcasting from 6pm on 100-101FM.
It was a World Cup qualifying match that Dalglish scored in – played in 1984 and ending in a 3-1 win for the Scots.
In a statement issued by Real Radio, Dalglish is quoted, as saying: “I’m really looking forward to joining my old Scotland teammate, Roughy, as part of the Real Radio commentary team at Hampden on Tuesday. I was on the score sheet last time Scotland beat Spain at Hampden and I can’t wait to be there soaking up the atmosphere and bringing all the action to the Real Radio listeners on Tuesday night.”
