Oops …The Scotsman got itself in a bit of a geographical tangle yesterday with its coverage on how Aberdeenshire Council has abandoned more than £100 million worth of planned projects to try to balance its books.
There was nothing amiss with the news story but, alas, when it came to illustrating the story with a picture, the paper came a bit of a cropper.
Above the caption …’schools, swimming pools, roads and libraries will be hit by the council cuts’, it showed a photograph of the skyline of Aberdeen.
The Granite City, which is also in dire pecuniary straits, is run by Aberdeen City Council, and there is no great love between the two local authorities, which were once a united body under the Grampian Region umbrella until the bureaucrats reorganised local government structures once again.
