THE Sunday Post’s political editor, Campbell Gunn, has been allowed home after spending a week in hospital, following a ruptured appendix.
On his admission into hospital, it was decided it would be better to put him on a drip of high-dose antiobiotics. He is now on high-dose tablets.
Yesterday’s political coverage in the paper was covered by Lorraine Davidson. Gunn returned home from hospital on Saturday evening.
Among the get-well cards, he received one from First Minister, Alex Salmond; another from Deputy First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon; and another from Scottish Labour Party leader, Iain Gray. Plus another from his fellow Holyrood hacks.
He was admitted following a couple of days of feeling increasingly unwell, finally submitting to the suggestion that a GP be called out to see him. At first, he thought he was suffering from food poisoning.
It’s not known when he will be well enough to resume his journalism duties.
