TRAINING in video journalism is being offered for free to members of the National Union of Journalists, as part of a programme to help print journalists make the move into other types of media.
The ‘digital convergence’ training is being offered in two parts: introductory and advanced.
The training is to be held in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen over the next few months.
As the courses are being externally funded – including the Scottish Trades Union Congress – is no cost to members and the NUJ even provides equipment, refreshments and lunch.
The first course – introduction – is being held in Glasgow from this Saturday to Monday.
The programme is:
Introduction to Digital Convergence (digital video camera familiaristion, moving from stills to video, editing, music and sound tracks, captions and a whole lot more)

Advanced Digital Convergence (advanced editing techniques, script to screen, short features for the web)
