A SPECIAL, birthday edition of STV’s daytime magazine show, The Hour, is being broadcast today.
The programme – which developed from the half hour-long five thirty show – is celebrating its first birthday today, and, to mark the occasion, there is to be a birthday cake complete with marzipan figures of presenters, Stephen Jardine and Michelle McManus.
Viewing figures are up 50 per cent on this time last year.
Says Jardine: “It’s been a fantastic first year for The Hour, and we’re delighted that viewers continue to enjoy the show. We have a very talented team working behind the scenes so it’s a real team effort, and we have a lot of fun keeping the show fresh and entertaining from day to day. Here’s to another year.”
Added series producer, Tom Cara: “We’re all thrilled to have reached the one year landmark, it’s a great achievement for the team. The Hour is the only daily live TV show broadcast outside of London and it’s a real buzz every single day to have such a vibrant production coming out of Scotland. We’d like to say a big thank you to our viewers for continuing to join in with the fun.”
