THE Scottish division of the professional body for the public relations industry, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, is seeking to extend its reach by inviting members to volunteer themselves as ‘ambassadors’, charged with disseminating information and recruiting new members.
Already with over 700 members, the Scotland division of the CIPR – which is UK-wide – is hoping to soon have each organisation with a CIPR presence boasting at least once ambassador.
Tangible rewards for ambassadors include half-price access to CIPR events and a £15 High Street voucher for every new member recruited.
Says CIPR Scotland vice-chair, Laura Campbell, who came up with the idea: “We’re looking for the new generation of PR professionals to help spread the word with colleagues about the many benefits of being in the CIPR. All we need is one enthusiastic and committed person per organisation, who can pass on news about events, awards and training and encourage others to be active members.”
