THE bureau chief at the Scottish Mail on Sunday has been appointed assistant editor at the Hull Daily Mail.
Jamie Macaskill succeeds Paul Hartley who has been promoted to deputy editor, following the appointment of previous incumbent, David Bourn, as editorial director of Inverness-based newspaper publishers, Scottish Provincial Press.
Jamie has held his current position for six years, having previously worked for the Trinity Mirror-owned Sunday Mail and Daily Record.
He began his career at the Evening Express in Aberdeen, before joining The Journal in Newcastle.
At the Scottish Mail on Sunday, Jamie’s role will be taken over by Andrew Beaven, currently the deputy news editor at sister title, the Scottish Daily Mail. He has been with the Daily Mail in Glasgow since 1998.
