A SCOTTISH movie, Crying with Laughter, is the latest Scots entry to triumph at awards celebrating the best TV, film, radio and digital media among the Celtic nations and regions.
Following on from last night’s two-from-six awards snapped up by Scots entries at the Celtic Media Festival, taking place in Northern Ireland, Crying with Laughter has emerged from the next wave of awards with victory in the ‘Feature length drama’ category.
The festival – now in its 31st year – ends tomorrow, with more awards to be handed out.
Described as a “dark and funny thriller”, Crying with Laughter was produced by Synchroncity Films and Wellington Films. it was named ‘Best film’ at the BAFTA Scotland awards last year.
The other winners among the latest batch of awards:
Short drama: If I Should Fall Behind – Fastnet Films, Tilted Pictures, the Irish Film Board, RTE and Filmbase.

Drama deries: Torchwood, Children of Earth – BBC Cymru Wales and Factual Entertainment with Y SAITH MAGNIFICO securing the Bronze Torc for Boomerang and S4C.
