A DRAMA documentary about notorious ‘Moors Murderer’, Ian Brady, is to be the first of five such productions to be screened on BBC ALBA and made by the Gaelic department of STV.
Presented by former Scotland correspondent for BBC News, John Morrison, the programme features Scottish actor, Benny Young, who plays the child killer, now as an old man seeking to end his days in a Scottish prison.
Ian Brady – Roghainn a’ Bhàis? (The Right To Die?) airs a fortnight today, at 9pm.
Playing the young Brady is Neil Mackay.
Scot, Brady, and his partner, Myra Hindley, were sentenced to life imprisonment in 1966, just weeks after hanging had been abolished.
Brady murdered five youngsters, two girls and three boys, burying four of them on Saddleworth Moor in the Pennines. The body of one, aged 12, was never located.
