THE centre pages of their newspaper were reserved yesterday for two Daily Record reporters who had just completed an ‘ironman challenge’ in Barcelona – comprising a 3,800m swim, a 112-mile cycle ride and a Marathon run.
Says the paper, this time last year, Mark McGivern and James Moncur were “staring 40 in the face” and “to prove they weren’t ready for the scrapheap just yet, last week they battled through the world’s toughest ironman race”.
McGivern completed his in 10hrs 37mins, while Moncur’s time was 11hrs 19min.
Congratuations.
