WHILE a look back at 50 years of the album chart had one BBC Scotland member of staff opting for a Bob Dylan album as his favourite of all time, it was The Damned for his colleague.
The retrospective – in the BBC in-house magazine, Ariel – had chief operating officer, Bob Malcolm, opting for Bringing it all Back Home. But it had Tommy Weir – in charge of marketing and events co-ordination – plumping instead for The Black Album.
Oddly, none of the 16 BBC folk vox-popped for the article chose Simon & Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water, which holds the distinction of staying at Number One for a record 41 weeks.
