A PERCEIVED lack of facilities to screen and see short films in Glasgow has led to a short film showcase being set up, beginning next month.
Magic Lantern is the brainchild of two young film fans, Penny Bartlett and Rosie Crerar. Bartlett is currently completing a masters degree in film and television from Glasgow University.
Its first outing is on the 20th of next month at the city’s CCA, with the hope that its fortnightly programme will comprise new work, retrospectives and vigorous debate about Scottish film.
Welcomed, therefore, are submissions – of less than 30 minutes in duration – from Scottish short filmmakers.
