SOME of Scotland’s baffling and mysterious deaths – including that of SNP activist, Willie McRae – are to be investigated by a series being broadcast on stv.
‘Unsolved’ will be presented by Alex Norton, star of detective drama. Taggart. This will be the third series of the programme, and the first episode will be transmitted on the 19th of next month.
Says stv, the first two series of Unsolved have resulted in “significant progress being made in some of Scotland’s long-standing unsolved murder cases”.
For instance, in January next year, a 59 year-old man is due to appear in court, charged with the murder, in 1980, of a nursery nurse in Dundee.
Meanwhile, a 35 year-old man is expected to appear in court at the end of this year, charged with the murder of a chicken factory worker whose semi-naked body was found in a quarry near his West Lothian home.
Says series producer, Isla Traquair: “The previous two series were the highest rating regional programmes on stv and generated a huge public response. We are confident the third series of Unsolved will be equally successful.”
