THE Edinburgh International Film Festival begins today and on the BBC website there is a question-and-answer interview with the festival’s director, Hannah McGill, to mark the occasion.
And it represents, for the BBC, the beginning of what promises to be intensive online coverage of all the festivals being hosted in Edinburgh this summer.
Says BBC Scotland’s head of News and Current Affairs, Atholl Duncan: “We’ve always covered the Edinburgh Festival extensively on programmes like Reporting Scotland and Good Morning Scotland.
“Now we are pleased to add special online coverage right across the summer, focussing on the many festivals taking place in the capital and giving us a platform to showcase our news coverage and features.”
