THE owner of many of Scotland’s best-known radio stations is embarking on a consultation process with a view to pooling programmes.
Bauer Media is speaking today with presenters of its AM stations in Scotland, such as Clyde 2 and Forth 2, about picking the best of the various stations and broadcasting it Scotland-wide.
Last year, the group introduced ‘Scottish national programming’ on its FM stations, beginning with a 7pm-10pm slot hosted by Romeo. The group owns Radio Clyde, Radio Forth, West Sound, MFR, Radio Borders and Radio Tay.
It is understood that Bauer is committed to keeping local news, but that the fate of other programming, including breakfast and drivetime shows, is up for discussion.
