A “SERIOUS lack of financial support” from local people has led to the cancellation of plans to establish a not-for-profit community radio station in Inverness.
Says the website of Ness FM, the station was hoping to be able to give the local community the chance to debate local issues. “It’s your radio station, so you’ll be providing the content while we give you the training and guidance,” it continued.
But it has informed broadcasting regulators, Ofcom, it is not now going ahead and therefore no longer requires a broadcasting licence.
“The Ness FM project has been cancelled due to a serious lack of financial support locally,” adds the website.
