Deadline looming to win TV fest pass

THE deadline is looming for a student to win a delegate’s pass at this year’s MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival.

The chance to attend the festival for free – plus file copy for allmediascotland.com – is being offered to any student attending a Scottish college or university. But entries require to be in by next Monday.

Wanted are essays of no more than 500 words, on the subject: TV in 2010.

The pass provides an opportunity to listen to and meet some of the key figures in television, including attending the keynote speech, the MacTaggart Lecture, which is this year being delivered by James Murdoch, chair and former chief executive of BSkyB.

Already, students studying media courses at Napier, Glasgow Caledonian and Strathclyde universities – plus at Cardonald College – have been alerted to the competition.
