THE head of a recently-launched marketing agency has established a work experience scheme with a Scottish university that will see at least one student per year awarded a permanent job.
Students on the MA degree course in Design Management and Practice, starting at Glasgow Caledonian University in September, will spend 30 per cent of their time at Merchant Soul, set up by Stephen Halpin at the start of the year.
And one of them each year will be given a job at the Glasgow-based company, which currently is seven-strong.
Says Halpin, who set up Merchant Soul after leaving design, architecture and advertising agency, Curious Group, of which he was a founding director: “This is an unique opportunity for people looking to move into the industry to get an understanding of what managing the creative process is really all about.
“Merchant Soul is not just a marketing services agency. It is focused on investing in young talent and creating an environment where our people are as important as our clients.”
