AN online forum – featuring the sorts of questions that encourage brides-to-be to buy a twice-yearly Scottish bridal magazine – is celebrating the signing up of it 500th member.
The Scottish Wedding Directory online forum – launched in February – provides couples planning to marry in Scotland the chance to share advice and information, including about etiquette during the ceremony, transport and dining.
The Scottish Wedding Directory was established by George Leckie in 1995, when his daughter was trying to arrange a wedding in Scotland and found there was little written material to help. The 500-page autumn/winter 2009 edition goes on sale on July 4.
Although the forum is new, The Scottish Wedding Directory website was launched 11 years ago.
Says editorial director, Lorna Leckie: “Our aim for the Scottish Wedding Directory forum was to provide a place for brides-to-be to share information and help each other through the minefield that wedding planning can be.
“The fact that more than 500 members have signed up already just goes to show that people were crying out for a dedicated Scottish bridal forum.
“We’ve been writing about weddings for 14 years and we know what our readers want. We love the forum because it’s helping us get to know them even better and, more importantly, it’s allowing them to get to know each other.”
