AN invitation to community and special interest groups to set up their own radio station has been made by broadcasting regulators, Ofcom.
Already, around a dozen community radio stations operate in Scotland, including 3TFM Community Radio for Health (North Ayrshire), Awaz FM (Glasgow), Black Diamond (Midlothian), Celtic Music Radio (Glasgow) and Edinburgh Garrison FM (Edinburgh).
There is also Insight Radio (Glasgow), Leith FM (Leith), Revival Radio (Cumbernauld), shmuFM (Aberdeen), Sunny Govan Radio (Glasgow), The Super Station (Orkney) and Brick FM (St Boswells and Newton St Boswells).
The closing date for applications for funding from Ofcom is the 12th of next month.
