A SCOTTISH free, weekly newspaper was among the winners last night, at UK awards celebrating the best of local, weekly newspapers.
The Aberdeen Citizen picked up the top prize in one of the categories in this year’s Newspaper Society Weekly Newspaper Awards.
It was in the ‘Advertisement of the year (free newspapers)’ category, a result which helped it take gold also in the race for the ‘Free weekly newspaper of the year in Scotland’ title.
However, the two biggest prizes went to English titles, the Bath Chronicle picking up ‘Paid-for weekly newspaper of the year’ award and MK News taking its free newspaper equivalent.
