GOOD to see the BBC Scotland news team being careful with its budget, as its reporting of a couple of stories last week illustrated.
Not only did its flagship, Reporting Scotland, manage to show footage that appeared to be shot from within the BBC Scotland headquarters, it also choose to use archive when the temptation might have been to shoot afresh.
The ‘footage from within’ was of a nearby fire at a scrapyard in Renfrew. The shots looked like they had been taken from the top floor of the BBC’s Pacific Quay building.
And the archive accompanied a story about road tax, and featured a tax disc of some vintage: 02-03.
