A MYSTERY project being set up by a former editor of The Scottish Sun has signed up a quartet of well-known names in the Scottish media, some two or so months ahead of launch.
Steve Sampson is remaining tight-lipped about the project, saying, “I’ll show my hand in good time, maybe a couple of months. Sport will be a strong focus, and it should appeal to the younger market. Online will play a fairly large part of the business.”
But Sampson did confirm that he has hired former Daily Record and Sunday Mail marketing director, Kirsten Morrison, as marketing director, plus former stv sales manager, Debbie Tully, as commercial director.
Also joining – though as a non-executive director – is Sean Duffy, Scottish business director at outdoor advertising outfit, CBS Outdoor. And, as editor-in-chief, is former chief sportswriter at the Scottish Mirror, Stewart Weir, who more recently has been a director of a sports management company.
