BALLOT papers are to be sent out next Tuesday to members of the National Union of Journalists, to allow them to elect their next deputy general secretary.
And among the four candidates is Scot, John Toner, a former chief sub-editor on the Paisley Daily Express and currently an employee of the union, in charge of freelance issues.
The closing date for ballot papers to be returned is July 4, and Toner is up against Philip Hunt, recent past president, Michelle Stanistreet, and Chris Youett.
