FOR the first time since December four years ago, the Scottish Sun is to be sold for 30p – its standard price – starting Monday.
Back then, it was selling some 338,000 copies, and within 18 months was down to just 10p per copy. The top-selling daily newspaper in Scotland, it currently retails at 25p and is anticipating another lead over its main rival, the Daily Record, when the ABC newspaper sales figures are released later today.
Spike understands the gap between the two papers will be circa 36,000, with the Sun having sold an average 399,000 copies throughout April.
The ABC average net circulation figures for March revealed that the Daily Record had cut the gap to 32,716 copies, from 33,907 the previous month.
