SUNDAY sees a new programme being launched on BBC Radio Scotland – devoted to Scottish business.
Presented every Sunday from 10am, by Graham Stewart, The Business promises to “talk to people at the heart of the Scottish economy, from small businesses to multinationals”.
Since joining BBC Radio Scotland last year, Stewart has been a regular voice on Good Morning Scotland, presenting the daily business news. Previously, he was a freelance business and technology journalist for publications including Scotland on Sunday and The Guardian.
With a radio career spanning 15 years, he has interviewed many of Scotland’s leading business and political leaders.
Says Stewart: “With the world financial crisis likely to dominate the news for the foreseeable future and with Scottish-based companies like RBS and HBoS at the heart of this story, there is a big appetite for a programme like this.”
Added Atholl Duncan, head of news and current affairs at BBC Scotland: “This is just the first of several improvements to our business coverage which we’re introducing over the coming months. Our aim is to provide a better service to the business community and to our wider audiences at a time when stories such as the credit crunch, the housing market and the performance of the Scottish based banks impact on all of us.”
BBC Scotland is also currently recruiting for a business editor to join its news team.
